Sara Menker and Gro Intelligence Are Tackling Global Hunger and Wealth Inequality
Sara Menker and Gro Intelligence are taking on food and income inequality in Washington DC this week. Sara Menker is the CEO of Smart Nation and Gro Intelligence is being created to identify and tackle extreme wealth inequality through financial technology in India. She joined us again at the Fintech India Summit in Mumbai to discuss the importance of financial technology and what’s next for India’s tech sector.
We’re very happy to welcome Sara Menker as our inaugural keynote speaker at Fintech India, as she’s a prominent figure in the global Fintech space. We first covered Sara Menker’s work in Asia back in our Tech & Culture series, when she was a regional head at Google Asia. Before that, Sara was the co-founder and CEO of a startup called Gro Intelligence, which is now being merged with Smart Nation.
Sara is also the co-founder and managing director of the Global Fintech Festival in London. She’s been a strong advocate for the role of women, and gender diversity in the tech industry and for global women entrepreneurs. She’s also written extensively about the importance of Fintech in tackling global inequality and women empowerment.
Sara is here at Fintech India, where she will be speaking about tech and development issues, and the role they play in tackling poverty, as well as global inequality. One of the biggest concerns about world poverty today is not just the issue of hunger, but also the issue of extreme wealth inequality. She’ll be focusing on these issues.

Sara, you are a strong advocate on issues of development, gender diversity and women empowerment and the role of financial technology.
