Explosive video from Shanghai demonstrates a building that can walk on its own.
Built in 2011, Jing Tower in Xinyi, China, is nearly 400 metres tall.
But despite standing a staggering 310 metres above the ground, it can now walk up to a new location up to a height of 110 metres – 10 metres higher than it was before.
“We simulated the walking floor using our 3D simulators,” said construction worker Hendrik Volkers in his video.

He added: “We built the walk with a waterproofing solution with our temporary installation and set up a safety mechanism.”
It was not until Mr Volkers decided to film the climb that he realised he could pull it off.
The footage has already been shared online.

The Jing Tower, which is the city’s tallest building, opened in 2011 and houses about 450,000 visitors every year.
Just weeks ago, engineers announced that they had sent up a commercial rocket by remotely controlled flight from the top of a three-sided Shanghai skyscraper.
SkyRocket launched its unmanned rocket in the courtyard of the 70-storey Shanghai Shenhua Building, which was constructed last year.
