Cardi B Talks Canceled Grammys Performance, Giving Birth and More In Memorable Miami Performance

Imagine the world’s biggest superstar rocking out on stages all over town without an entourage and groupies. That is exactly what Cardi B did over the weekend at Art Basel in Miami Beach, Florida, where she performed a total of seven shows, the first three at the Miami Swim Show on Saturday.

The Bronx native managed to take the stage of three different stages as she made stops across Miami Beach, Music Plaza and Excalibur, where she performed hits such as “I Like It,” “Bodak Yellow,” “Criminal” and others.

It was a one-of-a-kind performance from the Grammy-winning rapper who actually dropped out of an appearance at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, California, last week because she is pregnant.

“I don’t know if you guys heard that I was supposed to go to the Grammy Museum yesterday but I just don’t know if I’m going to do it now, because I just got pregnant and I feel like it’s so stupid because it’s not like I’m doing drugs, I’m not doing it. I’m just not going to be on no catwalk just to show that I’m pregnant,” she said on Instagram, explaining that her now-infamous fashion stunt “Bodak Yellow” was originally set to be dropped from the set list.

“All my favorite rappers drop records all the time… yo, do it,” Cardi B continued, addressing the decision to drop the song. “People need to understand that hip-hop has always been about having a good time and you should always have that in the game. You should always be able to drop new records.”

Cardi B is expecting her first child with husband Offset on July 11, which makes the Miami performance one of the first times she’s been onstage since she announced the pregnancy back in March.

Bardot Bardi closed out the weekend parties at the Frieze Miami Beach bash at the Raleigh Hotel, according to Paper magazine.
